What an amazing weekend of college football. Except for the adjustment of losing daylight savings, clear thinking is starting to settle in and the playoff picture started to come into better focus. Iowa State’s loss to Texas Tech, Clemson and Kansas State continue to be overrated in the AP and Coaches’ Poll, and Texas A&M let down after a huge win the previous week really shook things up a bit.

We lied when we said that “this week’s winner of the Wisconsin-Iowa game look to challenge for the 25th spot if Navy loses or struggles against Air Forces and Colorado’s strength of schedule lessens.” We can clearly see that some three loss teams are clearly better than some one or two loss teams at this point. Colorado entered our top 25 with a quick ascension after the big losses this weekend and the Army-Notre Dame game is starting to figure prominently. If Army wins in a couple of weeks, then it legitimizes the ranking it sees in the Coaches’ Poll and AP Poll. If however, Notre Dame soundly defeats them, then you have to drop the Black Knights out of the top 20 for sure.

Enter the Three Loss Crowd

Louisville and the Gamecocks have to be included in the top 25 despite their three losses each. What we ask here, everytime you create the rankings, would this team beat that team and so forth. And, we see Vandy being a team that could beat anybody on any given Saturday when the one that wants to be the winner shows up!

We always felt like Missouri, Kansas State, and Clemson were terrible overrated. And, we fell into that trap a little bit after we dropped K-State out of the top 25 several weeks ago. We dropped Missouri a long time ago and we were never viewing Clemson as a legit team for the top 25, nonetheless a playoff bid.
